Discovery’s “Gold Rush” is an incredible show that features numerous mining operations, but let’s be honest, Parker Schnabel is the true shining star! He started off with a guest star role in the first season, but once he got to work at the Big Nugget mine in Season 2, he took off like a rocket!

Schnabel comes from a long line of miners, with both his grandfather and father working in the same field. However, he believes that it’s up to his future children to decide what they want to do with their lives.

Schnabel revealed, “Mining is all about having a family and being able to work together. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to force my kids to do it. I wasn’t brought up that way. Although my dad owned a business, he never pressured me to follow in his footsteps.”

Parker Schnabel is all about family, and he wants to make sure his relationship with his kids is just as awesome as the one he has with his dad. Even though he followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the same industry, he doesn’t work for him directly, which means they have a bit of space between them.

And you know what? Schnabel thinks it’s fantastic that they’re not spending every single moment together because everyone turned out much happier that way. As Schnabel said, “My dad’s dream is not mine, and I don’t share that with my father, and I don’t expect my kids to share my dreams.”

Although mining has been a family tradition for a long time, Schnabel is willing to let his future kids explore other options. If they choose to go into mining, that’s awesome. But if they don’t, Schnabel will be the first to support their decision.

“Family can be complicated sometimes, but at the end of the day, I just want my kids to be happy and successful in whatever they do.”

It has worked out well for Schnabel and his father at this point. He’s grateful for their close friendship, but he knows that working together could potentially cause complications.

As he said, “Family can get quite messy and complicated at times, and that’s not really what I’m after. I get my downtime, but my dad and I are best friends, and that’s important to me.”

It’s clear that Schnabel values his relationship with his father and his kids above all else. And with his success in the industry, he knows that as long as he supports his family in their dreams, everything will turn out just fine.

Schnabel has achieved great success by following his own path and earning millions of dollars in the process. The most crucial thing is that parents support their children in whatever they choose to do.
