Street Outlaws – Lizzy Musi And Kye Kelly’s Love Story

The popular TV show Street Outlaws offers an inside look into the world of illegal drag racing, highlighting the thrills and challenges of the sport. The series started in Oklahoma City in 2013 and later spawned a Memphis-focused spinoff in 2018.

Lizzy Musi, a prominent figure amidst the drivers spotlighted in the series, commands the helm of the formidable Aftershock Camaro. For Lizzy, the culture of street racing unfurls as a familial endeavor, enlisting both her sister and father as integral players.

Indeed, the luminary of Street Outlaws emanates from the lineage of Pat Musi, the proprietor of Pat Musi Racing Engines nestled in Mooresville, N.C. Embarking on her racing journey at a tender age of 8, Lizzy momentarily veered from her passion during her teenage years.

Her sister, Tricia Musi, is also a racer and holds the Nitrous Pro Street World Champion title.

Lizzy’s entrance into Pro Nitrous occurred in 2014 with the King Kong 5, a 2009 Dodge Stratus. She appeared as herself in the film Adrenaline (2015), depicting a driver’s struggles after an accident. Lizzy’s accomplishments include being the first woman to triumph in Pro Nitrous and setting speed records, like hitting 209.23 mph.

In 2018, she had a crash while testing The Shocker (a Camaro), but she emerged unharmed. Edelbrock sponsors her, a company specializing in automotive and motorcycle components.

Beyond racing, Lizzy showcases her interests in fitness, fashion, and hunting. She’s in a relationship with fellow racer Kye Kelley since 2017. Culminating on July 31, 2021, Kye tendered the question, sealing their engagement in an enduring promise of matrimony.

Ironically, this proposal coincided with the very day that witnessed Lizzy’s crash during the initial round of the Darlington Dragway No Prep Kings. Reflecting on the juxtaposition of adversity and jubilation, Lizzy shared her sentiments via Instagram.

“As the night drew to a close, he sprang ‘THE QUESTION’ on me,” she recounted. “A torrent of emotions surged within me – excitement, elation, and sentimentality converged. My unequivocal response was ‘YES!’ I yearn to unite my destiny with my confidant, my cherished companion. He certainly offset the challenges of the day; I cherish you dearly.”

The confluence of their paths germinated during a PDRA exhibition race, orchestrated by the introduction of none other than the patriarch of the Musi family, Pat. Kye, a visitor to Pat Musi’s establishment, entered Lizzy’s sphere.

Candidly sharing her initial encounter, Lizzy reminisced, “In honesty, his name hadn’t resonated with me; the allure of [Street Outlaws] hadn’t beckoned my attention!” She elucidated how her father was the conduit that brought them together, paving the way for a friendship rooted in authenticity and relatability.

Kye, a fixture within the Street Outlaws ensemble since 2016, bore a marital history preceding his liaison with Lizzy. Matrimonial vows exchanged with Alisa Mote in 2015 preceded their subsequent separation two years later. Their shared journey introduced a daughter, Kenadeigh Alexa Kelley, while Kye’s familial tapestry extended to another daughter from a prior relationship.

Bridging the chasm between racing and personal life, Lizzy and Kye’s intimate narrative finds expression on social media platforms, with their shared Instagram moments painting a vivid portrait of their bond. The synergy they exude extends even further, as the duo collaborates on a joint YouTube channel, encapsulating their multifaceted connection.
